The one thing I'd add to this wish list assumes that there is a
CMS in use and that there is some degree of reuse, single-
sourcing, and/or collaborative authoring. The one additional
role I'd add is that of a librarian/taxonomist. This person
wouldn't necessarily be responsible for generating or editing
content, but would be completely responsible for ensuring
that all information objects are appropriately identified (titled)
and that the CMS has all the appropriate metadata on each
information object. Even in our own little pubs group (8 writers)
and with the limited amount of reuse and shared content we
have tried to achieve, the biggest obstacle has been that
nobody knows what potentially useful information objects
have been created by other writers for other projects/products.
What an amazing concept it would be to have one person you
could ask who was likely to know whether the object you
need already exists and tell you exactly how to query the
repository to find it.
