Only in magic does something appear.
Since we are dealing with software technology, we know that there is a
cause: you clicked on something and an effect: something happens. With
regard to software, that which happens is either displayed on the
interface or processed by the software. Quibble about it all that you
want, but software doesn't show you anything. What it does, in the
purest sense is modify the pixel display on the monitor, therefore, when
you click on something, the computer or application displays the results
of that function or process. That is, unless you have vaporware or MS
Office, in which case, the computer often displays a totally blue pixel
array for your enjoyment and edification. ;^}}
