Yes, please post all topic online here. As a matter of fact, I was
thinking of working overseas the other day and was wondering how to
approach finding opportunities overseas. I am mainly interested in
Europe but I think this topic could apply to any continent.

I knew of an Engineering friend whose company sent him to Amterdam to
work an a product he had experience with. Since he was currently with
that organization for a while, and to make his going overseas
lucrative and attractive to him, in Amterdam, he got: company paid
Audi, company paid housing downtown in Amsterdam, company paid
international cell phone, and some extra salary for going over there.

I think he hot what he did because he was employed with them
beforehand. Had he been an outsider, he may have not gotten all those
perks, but I think companies do provide some perks to those candidates
they are interested in to make it attractive for them to relocate.

My suggestion would be to look at international comapanies first and
see what they have available. It may take a year or two to get
overseas, and would be a crapshoot if you joined internally to get
what where you need to go.

However, I contacted a friend of mine who worked for Deutche Bank and
they had TW opportunities in Frankfurt, Germany.

Just some food for thought.

Henry

For future reference, all initial replies should be on-list. You'll
get a much wider array of responses when people start responding to
other replies (it's called "synergy" <g>), and I'm sure you're not
the only one interested in the topic. The discussion then becomes
part of the archives too.
