Well, my current job took three months from submission to interview.
First someone had a bereavement, and then they were hiring a new boss
first, and so on.
In the meantime, my CV having apparently vanished into nowhere, I
applied for two other jobs. I had interviews for all three in the same
week, loved the position I finally took, but was offered one of the
others first with a +very+ flattering salary.
Which brings me to another recruitment question; how would you (or how
did you) handle a situation when you've got one firm job offer under
your belt, but you're hoping for another?
