So-o-o-o-ooo... you live at a fiscal disadvantage in
NY in order to bask in the glories of the Big Apple,
and that compensates for the difference in costs and
the shortfall of paycheck?
Or, there are other employer-provided comps, like
extremely good insurance, retirement-savings-matching
(whatever youse guys call it... 401K or something?)?
I'm always curious why people stay in an area where they
are at an economic disadvantage for extended periods.
TW-ing is a portable skill, after all (not like fishing
or coal-mining that have definite geographic niches).
Likely some would do so because a spouse has a viable
career in the hard place. Or other family reasons, I suppose.
