Likely not. The invasiveness of email traffic makes a mailing list
particularly appropriate for getting useful information and help
in a timely manner. Blogs, etc., tend to get read when they get
read, and not necessarily quickly enough to have the questions
answered promptly. We added a brief note at the top of the
"post your blog" page to clarify that blogs are likely not the best
way to post a question for TECHWR-L.
On the other hand, blogs are a cool way to post an answer. I find
it quite interesting the way that blogs are providing a significant proportion
of the technical documentation in the open source (FOSS) community,
and users seem to be perfectly content with that.
I do wonder if that'll persist, or if we'll find that users in 3 years
who can't find the old blogs will regret not having insisted on "real"
documentation.
