Subject:Email etiquette for Japan From:"Rob Hudson" <caveatrob -at- gmail -dot- com> To:TECHWR-L <techwr-l -at- lists -dot- techwr-l -dot- com> Date:Tue, 29 May 2007 14:47:31 -0400
Hi all,
I will be contacting some folks in Japan and wondered how I should
open my email since we have not yet become acquainted.
In the States, I'd do:
Dear Ms. So-And-So,
What is the protocol for Japan? I'll be inquiring about business to a
woman. I only mention this gender because I do not know if there are
cultural subtleties when communicating with persons of a particular
gender.
Thank you,
Rob
