TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
The annual Writer's Market, at least traditionally, has had sections on
this, too. Check your local library or bookstore.

Subject: contract examples?
Hi all!
First, thanks for ALL the help with my recent questions. I thanked some
respondents personally, but for the people I didn't thank...Thanks! You
people have been generous with your knowledge and experience and I don't
know what I'd do without you!
Now, I need to set up a copyright agreement with a magazine I sometimes
write for, but I don't have any examples or boilerplate contracts with
which to do so. I am looking for examples of contracts that spell out
copyrights, specifically first rights of first publication and
reprinting rights. This is a great publication and I don't mind them
doing just about whatever they want with most of what I send them, but I
want to retain future rights for myself, just in case.
Does anyone have such a contract they'd share with me or know of an
online source where I can find such a contract?
Thanks!
Traci
