Oh heavens, I would never use a knife. Back in the days when I was training my Percheron for jousting, I actually took sword-fighting lessons from an arms master who I hired by tossing him a bag of silver dollars at the Renaissance Faire he was working. His most valuable advice: just because you have a sword, do not forget you also have another good punching arm and two kicking feet.
And I'm never in those disputes about documents (to bring things back to TW). In fact, I'm the official mediator, a certified trainer of trainers in creative conflict resolution through the international Alternatives to Violence program. Please Google for more info from their official site, don't ask me. I have been known to threaten to deliver the unforgettable experience of being soundly beaten about the head and shoulders by a certified trainer of trainers in creative conflict resolution -- but I would never resort to knives and my threats are mostly empty ones.
