TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
My favorite misleading sign is one they put out in Michigan every summer
during construction reminding people that it is against the law to kill
construction workers with your car... It says "Kill a construction worker
$7500 and 15 years in prison." Something about it has a marketing tone and I
feel like it is saying "For a mere $7500 and 15 years in prison, you may
kill a construction worker." I always get the urge to haggle and see if I
can kill two for only $14,000 and 25 years or something. It is very badly
written.
Then again...my ex was a construction worker...so I can never tell if I am
just over-editing...or if I just need a really good shrink! :)
