TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
I post in plain text because the listserv doesn't accept RTF or HTML and RTF
and HTML produce unpredictable results for some email clients. I've seen
paragraphs get jammed together and I don't like reading that and I don't
like seeing that happen to my messages. I've also started to see that I
prefer to read paragraphs that are 3-5 sentences long, so I try to compose
paragraphs that follow that convention. With plain text messages, I can
control my paragraphing, although line breaks sometimes get a little jacked
in email.
