PDF Writer is an old, discontinued, non-PostScript method of creating
PDFs.
What version of Adobe Acrobat do you have?
What OS do you have?
Regards.

Subject: Word to PDF Prob
I'm trying to convert a Word doc to a PDF (in other words, we are trying
to print the Word doc to AdobePDFWriter). The Word doc is not
long--perhaps a few pages.
The PDF is NOT generated; an error file IS generated. The error file
contains tons of information (most of it meaningless to me). However, it
also contains this information:
(This job requires more memory than is available in this printer.)100
500 (Try one or more of the following, and then print again:)100 485
(For the output format, choose Optimize For Portability.)115 470 (In the
Device Settings page, make sure the Available PostScript Memory is
accurate.) 115 455(Reduce the number of fonts in the document.)115 440
(Print the document in parts.)
I'm not sure why it requires more memory, since the Word doc isn't
large. We tried increasing memory to the max, but it didn't seem to have
any effect.
Any idea what "Optimize for Portability" means? Or why the number of
fonts would cause PDF generation to bomb out?
