After a long motherhood leave, I acquired a associates degree in
electromechanical engineering. The main reason for doing so was to get my
mind back in a technical mode, and to acquire a thorough knowledge of
terminology. Tech schools are WAY behind in technology, since they can
never afford either the equipment or the instructors that are "bleeding
edge," and I will probably never use the calculus or physics that I
studied, but I can converse more confortably with developers and
engineers, and feel I have paid my dues.
It was certainly worth the effort, altho it was the MS in tech comm that
paid off in the long run.
