You apparently missed Dave's point.
You rant about sweeping generalizations and then you make one... your
definition as to the purpose of technical writing and business writing is
narrow, static, and completely wrong -- in my experience. For 25 years I've
made a VERY good living using the same writing and communication disciplines
to cross technical and marketing/business barriers. It can be done, is being
done, and should continue to be done where appropriate for the
clients/organizations that want to integrate their entire strategy for
communicating to all of their audiences.
You rant about proper list etiquette, but the first thing you do is call
Jason names. I wonder how well you sleep at night.
