Word 2003 Page Numbering Problem

Hi All,

Here is the problem:

Some documents print: Page 1 of 10, Page 2 of 10, Page 3 of 10
Other documents print: Page 1 of 1, Page 2 of 2, Page 3 of 3

Same field code is used for page numbering in all documents
Everything looks fine on screen
Errors sometimes carry into PDFs, sometimes not
Sometimes same doc prints OK on one printer and not on another printer

I know that in Word 2000 this was a known bug fixed by SP2.

What is the problem in Word 2003 so that I can ask our IT people for
specific help?
