>I know that in Word 2000 this was a known bug fixed by SP2.
And now, with the advent of Word 2003, the bug has been reintroduced.
The easiest way to fix it is to go into Word and select "Tools >
Options." Unclick everything you don't really need. I believe (it's
been three years, so don't quote me) that it is "Saves > Allow
background saves" that causes this behavior.
