That wasn't exactly what I meant with my comment. At least within the
context of my own employment and consultation with over 20 software
companies, there has been a distinct differentiation made between
Software and IT, and that has been (to dumb it down) Software =
product, IT = support. I know IT encompasses a huge array of 'stuff',
from databases to medical equipment, and from computer hardware to
digital mail sorters.
Whatever the case, this thread seems to be nothing more than a tug o'
war. I guess it is indeed a matter of perception.
