Subject:Call for Survey Volunteers From:"Heather Iacobacci-Miller" <hriacobacci -at- gmail -dot- com> To:techwr-l -at- lists -dot- techwr-l -dot- com Date:Wed, 11 Jun 2008 13:06:46 -0500
My name is Heather Iacobacci-Miller. I am a grad student in the
Professional and Technical Writing program at the University of Arkansas at
Little Rock. I am attempting to complete my thesis (currently titled "The
Perils of the Lone Tech Writer").
I am in need of volunteers to complete a survey to help me out. I am
interested in learning about the job experiences of technical
writers/communicators (even if this was not the exact title of your
position).
I am hoping to find out about tech writers' expectations and employers'
expectations and how they may mesh or clash. Additionally, how do these
expectations shape the job duties/functions of the writer? How do (or can)
the expectations shape the profession itself?
There will be an initial questionnaire that is fairly general. From there,
I will choose volunteers to complete a more in-depth survey via the phone.
If you are interested, please do the following:
1. Complete the attached consent form
fax Attn. Dr. Kuralt (501-569-8279)
Or
scan to PDF and email to hriacobacci -at- gmail -dot- com
2. Complete the initial questionnaire and email back to me.
Please contact me with any questions.
Sincerely,
Heather Iacobacci-Miller
