ok- can you map the network folder as s drive on your machine?
(if you can 'see' the network folder, you can map it as a drive)
Then Acrobat can happily watch your "drive" or a folder within it.
If you need to output fresh print files from the Word docs, a bit of VBA
should do the trick, print all docs in a folder to .ps files in whatever
drive/folder that Adobe is watching.
Or, if you need the bookmarking and such, it should be possible to have
vba* open each file in a folder and invoke the PDF build from within Word.
*meaning a semi-small program in MS Visual Basic for Applications, which
is built into the MS Office suite, including Word.
