Subject:Fwd: Help! Corrupted Word file(?) From:arroxaneullman -at- aol -dot- com To:techwr-l -at- lists -dot- techwr-l -dot- com Date:Mon, 08 Sep 2008 18:16:15 -0400
Ok, here are the symptoms: The doc file won't open and the error message says that there is insufficient memory. But memory is not the problem--got plenty of that. Research shows this message often results from incompatible anti-virus software, but I'm running the same AVG 8.0 that everyone else is running without that problem.
Before the file corrupted, Word got caught up in a cycle of error-close-recover-error-close-recover... And I had to reinstall Word to solve it. However, that only stopped the cycle, not fixed the document.
I've tried opening the file in any number of ways, but lose formatting, links, styles, references, indexing, and/or other necessary attributes.
Could be any of your suggestions, but remember rule #1 when working with
Word:?
?
It's not a question of if, but when and how much a Word file will be
corrupt.?
?
If you could give us a bit more information about what the problem is,
operating system, Word version (I know, it's Word 2003), and any more
details about the problem you're experiencing, that would be helpfull...?
