RE: Strange jpg behavior

Hi, everyone. Thank you all for the helpful and informative replies. I 
have found out that the orginal bmps are created in Paint (and I am 
converting them to gifs, not jpgs as I erroneously stated originally. 
Purpose of conversion is to reduce file size.)

I'm going to try some of the techniques you've suggested, and I'll 
report back on the results.
