Location, and Casio and Timex seem to agree. The default for time zone
on my Timex is location. However, GMT offset is also provided
secondarily. The thing I find unsettling about calculating GMT offset is
daylight savings time. DST starting and stopping dates vary by a few
weeks from continent to continent. Theoretically, an application that
uses location would also be programmed to account for DST. Not possible
with GMT offset.

If you had a choice of selecting a timezone from a list sorted by
location name or GMT offset, which would be easier for you to use?
Assume that you will not have be able change the sorting order as you
please (and acknowledging that many or maybe all OSs sort by GMT
offset).
Thanks.
