Subject:Concerning the Snapfly invitation I, and I assume, you received From:Gregory P Sweet <gps03 -at- health -dot- state -dot- ny -dot- us> To:techwr-l -at- lists -dot- techwr-l -dot- com Date:Mon, 11 May 2009 10:41:20 -0400
I could see by the To field on the e-mail that some others on the list must
have received this invitation as well, and some quick googling reveals that
Vizidesk seemingly trolled several listservs/forums this weekend to compile
their spam list (interestingly enough vizidesk.com doesn't come up on in a
google search for vizidesk.) They've already taken a beating on a couple of
the other forums, publically noted they spammed and offered a free copy of
the release version of the software to anyone who feels they were spammed.
Most interesting thing yet is that in all the messages I've seen no one
from vizidesk has manned up to put their name on any of the posts, which
just screams virus to me.
But anyway are these yahoos sponsors or did they just despicably troll the
list for e-mail addresses? I think I know the answer but I am a benefit of
the doubt kind of guy.
cheers!
-Greg
