The company is located in a suburb of Philadelphia.  They may have made 
assumptions about the relative likelihood of arrogance in Americans, Canadians, 
Germans or Kazakhs, but more likely they just assumed that the vast majority of 
applicants were going to be Americans.

I don't know whether they were trying to exclude you specifically; I can't come 
to any conclusionss about your level of arrogance based on list posts. :)
