I've had that happen to me with my carefully crafted resume ending up looking like a train wreck. I've arrived at the point where I tell the recruiter that if they're going to make *any* changes to my resume they must submit it to me for approval/revision *before* submitting it to the client. I also tell them that we technical writers are judged not just by the content of our resume but by the evidence of our skills reflected in how we've created our resume in Microsoft Word.
