TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
As for immediate knee-jerk reactions, I admit I had them to the whole
idea of technical communicator certification. However, if STC will
also listen to those that are not members (for whatever reason...mine
is cost at the moment...I just can't afford the membership) who may
have something good to contribute, I'd love to keep watching, reading,
and finding out more about the certification. It has the potential
for good. I'd like to be part of shaping that so that it *is* good.
