There are many representations of carriage return (CR) and new line (NL). A common CR is a pilcrow, which is U+00B6.
Thing is that you can't include something for human readers *and* not screw up the code, if you want them to copy-paste, as the NL in your human version would have to be some glyph.
A font called Arial Terminal Two has a tiny "N" and "L" represented like a fraction. Imagine 1/2 using super & subscripts, only no virgule and using N and L instead of 1 and 2.
