I'm still a fan of the "it depends" poll option. ;-)
If I have contact information for them (and believe it or not, some
just give a HR phone number from the get-go) I write them. That said,
I need to get crackin' on one today!

When I was in a hiring role, I always appreciated getting a letter but
the content of the letter would definitely play in favor of or against
the candidate. Craft them wisely!
