The OP specified manuals and guides in PDF format. I threw Doc-to-Help in just
in case the idea of using Flare indicated the possibility of online help, but
since the alternative was FrameMaker with no HAT, probably not.
If the company is so new that it hasn't equipped any systems yet, OpenOfiice
would certainly be a good alternative to Word, but in most cases, some release
of Word is most likely already on everyone's system.
