I agree with the advice others have already offered with respect to "know your audience". If you're convinced the audience could use a little insight into CSS, XHTML, and ereaders, it might be worth considering an appendix for each of those topics so that the flow of your document isn't interrupted for those who don't need those explanatory topics.
