Subject: change in careers
Well, after 14 years of being a technical writer, I am shifting gears and moving to our training department where I will work as an instructor. First, I'd like to thank all the members of techwrl for getting me through those 14 years. I couldn't have done it, as successfully, without you!
So now I'm hoping you'll help me get through this instructor portion of my career!
There may be an opportunity in the future for me to help re-develop their training manuals. They are currently using InDesign. While I'm familiar with this software, my strength lies more in FrameMaker. Is there a defacto standard for developing training docs? Do you have any suggestion for how I can better understand how to develop leader guides vs student guides? Any and all help would be greatly appreciated! Also, if you know of another list that's focused more on training, I'd love to hear about it!
Thanks again for all you help and entertainment over the years. I wish I could buy you all a beer. But alas, my thanks will have to do for now.
All the best,
Bryan
