I wondered how long it would take companies that make the tools to figure out they needed to offer publishing methods that output simpler formats. But those of us tied into the Adobe suite are still behind the times (at least not to a "click a button" stage yet).
That said... there are even a lot of third party freebie tools to convert various formats to things like ePUB format (I've been an ePUB reader for quite a few years, and I re-format a lot of stuff into ePUBs with freebie tools).
