Unlike some positions we've seen, that job can't be filled by a
desperate TW lacking the proper skills. Gene Kim-Eng can correct me on
this one, but "complex digital avionic products" are probably subject to
severe regulatory scrutiny. Substandard documentation could put the
company at risk for losing the contract altogether.

This was just listed today in Vermont. It doesn't look entry level to
me.

The rate is $13 an hour.

Technical Documentation Editor: Full-time, long-term temporary position
in Williston for an experienced Technical Documentation Editor. In
summary, the employee will author operations and maintenance
publications for complex digital avionic products. Will work closely
with engineering to acquire accurate data and then present it in the
correct style and format for publication using standardized templates.
Essential responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Developing technical publications and revisions for new and
existing products;
- Authoring publications using MS Word;
- Modifying/developing document style and format in compliance
with customer and industry specifications;
- Making sure that projects are completed on time and within
budget;
- Creating/editing illustrations to support procedures and
descriptions;
- Coordinating all aspects of publication development across
all functional disciplines.
This position requires a mandatory proficiency test. Applicants who
perform this test successfully and meet the minimum requirements for
this position may be granted an interview.
IMPORTANT: This is a full time (40 hr. week) position that will most
likely last 6-9 months. April - December should be used for planning
purposes, as our client requires a full commitment to this assignment.
Immediate availability is preferred so training period can commence.
Applicants who are unavailable for the complete assignment period will
not be considered. This position is listed at $13/hr.

Must have Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism or related field, or
high school diploma/GED with at least four years of experience in
technical authoring of digital avionic products.
