Subject:Re: Follow-up and Question on large Word docs From:Kathleen MacDowell <kathleen -dot- eamd -at- gmail -dot- com> To:Kat Kuvinka <katkuvinka -at- hotmail -dot- com> Date:Fri, 6 Jul 2012 13:48:55 -0500
I haven't used the linking feature for quite a while, but I don't
think it was a Word problem. To my best recollection, it was because
there was no way to ensure that a doc wouldn't be moved. If it is,
then the links break, and you have to re-insert the graphics. The only
way to do that correctly was to name the graphic something that could
be tracked--a lot of extra effort when lots of graphics are involved.
There were a lot of other issues too, including use of a CMS.
So, I stopped linking :-)
I imagine the same things will happen now, perhaps with more issues,
as increasingly often files are on servers, etc.
It is a handy idea, and I haven't worked with Frame enough to know if
the same problems would occur.
Waiting to see other suggestions that might resolve these issues...
