I'd put a bulleted summary of pertinent skills and experience in your introduction and then follow it up with the past 10 years of jobs. Save any needed explanation of where and when for the interview. Most hiring managers won't bother to read past your last 10 years even if you do include it.

Currently this category under Experience looks like this:

2003-present Business Owner

1990-2003 Writer (contract)

blah, blah

Employer #2
blah, blah

Maybe just eliminate the last range of years and replace with “Permanent Employment” or such, and a length of time employed there?
