Z.I.P.

The Associated Press Stylebook reads:
Use all-caps ZIP for Zone Improvement Program,
but always lowercase the word code.
Run the five digits together without a comma,
and do not put a comma between the state name and
the ZIP code: New York, N.Y. 10020.

** N.Y. with periods? Must be a mistake.
The two-letter abbreviations were conceived
without periods.

Nobody would put periods into the M.A. for
Massachusetts, I'm sure...

If God intended one space between sentences, why do we have two thumbs?
