I would not consider "alot" a new term for a new concept. Would anyone
consider writing "alittle" (or abig, asmall, awhatever)? I don't even
know how "alot" would be pronounced.

By the way, there are a "whole bunch" of made-up words out there that have
become "real words," especially in the software industry.

When you think about it, _every_ word was "made up" at one time. I am conscious
of this when others object to new terms for new concepts...
