I'm on a process improvement team at my work. It's made up of
5 engineers and 1 tech writer (me) from Product Development. We have
decided that we need to track our time better (collect historical
data) so we can better estimate/schedule our jobs. I'm reading
Joan Hackos' book "Managing Your Documentation Projects" and I
have DeMarco's book "Controlling Software Projects" available to me.
In addition to those sources, can anyone direct me to other related sources?
I don't want WHYs (theory), I want HOWs (practical tips for getting
people to track their time when they see it as an inconvenient task).
We're a UNIX shop. Can anyone recommend a practical, cheap (or
free) online tracking system for UNIX?
