I agree completely. Good writing doesn't come from a specific degree. One
person, however, suggested that Journalism had *no* relation to tech writing;
a statement that has met with widespread disagreement from many on this list
(including myself).
I once heard a saying that it's easier to teach a good writer how to be
technical than it is to teach a technical person who lacks writing skills to
be a good writer.
