So what do you call the @ sign when it precedes part of an address as in

John Doe
@ Jane Doe
0000 Sample Lane
Anywhere, World

I think we need to be careful to distinquish between the names for signs
and the function they perform. I've seen the @ sign used to mean variously

in care of
at cost
each
at

I'm still not sure what the specific name for the sign itself is.
