TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
For those who are interested in using Web technology to
produce an exclusively in-house website, check out the
April 23/96 issue of PC magazine: they devote three
sections to explaining intranets and describing how to set
one up.
The one big omission is that they don't mention Mac-based
products, and I don't recall any UNIX-only solutions, so
you'll have to look elsewhere for those. You can reach
Apple via the web (they sell some of the best Web solutions
going), and I'm sure Sun can provide info. on UNIX
intranets. (URLs not handy... sorry)
