Well, just to make sure your wait was worth it... :-)
I was just about to tell Arlen how funny his response was (as they
always are) and how much I enjoyed a bit of humor in what is
sometimes a pretty dry newsgroup, when I saw your post.

Seems like most of the "professional discussions" I have (online and
in person) are just like this list. Some of it is over my head, some of it
has nothing to do with what I do, some of it I need to know, some of it
I already know, some of it has nothing at all to do with work but
is part of that valuable "getting to know you" stuff, and some of it is
just plain silly and fun.
And regarding the things you don't want to read, I think you said it
best:
