Gen, List,
Might want to take a look at what the MS Binder application available in MS
Office for Win95 would buy you in this situation. It can control your page
numbering and indexing across a number of documents.
You are correct in assuming the one Word document will not cut it.
However, if you happen to have an old version of Word 2 for Windows
hanging around, the master document feature in it could help you out too.
Just don't use the master document feature in Word 6 or 7. Fuzzy on the
good bad thing, that's bad! (The list has had long drawn-out
arguments/discussions about this feature in the newer versions of Word, and
how it basically doesn't work.)
If you need more specifics, email me direct at the address in the sig.
good luck,

I have a large project (700-page manual) which was created in Ventura
Publisher. It has approx. 35 chapters and includes around 350 PCX
files.
