Jane, keep in mind that as a Mac user, Brad probably doesn't understand
how to do "alt+0151" :-)
Brad, the procedure is to hold down the ALT key, type the specified
numbers on the numeric keypad, and then release the ALT key. Leading
zeros are not necessary (alt+151 will work the same as alt+0151, alt+2
will work the same as alt+0000002).

Righto. Many editors include similar functions - for example, Semware
QEdit v3.0 and above for DOS and OS/2 (now known as TSE - The Semware
Editor) has an "ascii charT" under its "Other" menu.

Remember the good ol' days of the C-64 when all those neat graphics
characters were right there on the regular keys, accessible via the
SHIFT and C= keys? :-)
