This came up on the copyediting list a while ago, IIRC. Here's the upshot:
Start in the parens with a lowercase letter; start the next sentences with
capital letters; end with no punctuation unless it's needed, e.g. a question
mark. So your example would look like:
Text text text text (text text text. Text text text. Text text text) text
text text.
