Subject:Preparing Frame files for color separation From:Stephen Victor <svictor -at- HOUSTON -dot- GEOQUEST -dot- SLB -dot- COM> Date:Wed, 4 Jun 1997 11:14:25 -0500
Help! The eleventh hour is almost upon me, and I need some help with a
document I'm about to send to the printer.
It's a Frame document (UNIX platform) with some Pantone colors (I think
the old "PMS" term is no longer PC, but I digress) and many imported
images (xwd's and Sun raster images) copied into the document.
The problem is that imported graphics must be in CMYK TIFF, DCS, or EPS
format for color separation; other formats won't separate. When I print
the color separations, I get only two prints: one for black, the other
for the Pantone color. The imported images are on the black page, which
alarms me because (I think) it means that the images won't separate.
Can someone tell me 1) what format Frame converts images to when it
copies them into a doc, and 2) if there's any way to "extract" images
from a document and convert them to a format for color separations.
I eagerly (and desperately) await your replies.
Thanks,
Steve
