Subject:Overly long bulleted lists? From:geoff-h -at- MTL -dot- FERIC -dot- CA Date:Wed, 30 Jul 1997 12:29:58 -0500
Karen Kay wondered <<So what should you do if you have 11
or 12 items? I'm facing a document with this now. It really
seems like the list is too long, but each item is about two
lines, and there's really no other obvious way to include
the information.>>
The usual solution is to break the list into two or more
smaller lists. For example, a lengthy installation
checklist might form three new lists: steps to follow to
ensure you can proceed with the installation, the
installatin itself, and troubleshooting the result. Another
approach might be to create a flowchart if the list is
sequential and involves choosing among alternatives.
