TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
A couple of points on the liberal arts/technical backgrouund
debate:
1) If you have a liberal arts background and it takes you 1,000
words to defend yourself as a technical writer, you should stick
to writing novels.
2) If you have a technical background and it bothers you that
someone with a liberal arts background is a technical writer,
then you have a serious handicap as a writer. You have a
closed mind.
Getting a job done is what counts.
