Subject:Guidelines for Creating Wizards From:bcsmit - Bill Smith <bcsmit -at- ACXIOM -dot- COM> Date:Mon, 3 Nov 1997 16:21:49 -0600
Can anyone suggest references (Internet sites, books, magazines) where I
can find guidelines for writing/developing wizards for Windows 95
software applications.
I've consulted several books, searched the Web, and looked thru other
sources (Microsoft Windows 95 Help Authoring Kit, www.microsoft.com,
miscellaneous online Help authoring guides), only to find fairly limited
information. Much of what I've found has to do with how to use the
WinHelp 4.0 Training Card macro. Good information, but not what I'm
looking for.
What I'm seeking are specific guidelines on how to design wizard
interface components (controls, dialogs, windows) and how to write task
guidance and instructions (style advice). I did find some of this at
microsoft.com, but I'm hoping to find more.
Thanks for your help in advance. I'll gladly publish a summary on the
list of any/all suggestions.
