TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
Marilynne Smith and Dave Snodgrass both claim that they'll never pickup or
buy an idiot's "how-to" book.
I have, and will continue to, buy with pride and *read* these books. It'll
help translate the subjects I need for technical writing -- and I have fun
reading it.
As one who has spoken in person to some of the authors, they serve an area
that is needed, and in a sense, it's technical writing for the masses.
The "Idiot Audience" these books cater to, are a vast, growing area that
will only see more books -- perhaps an "Idiot's Guide to Technical Writing"
will be in the works. :-o
Sincerely,
